I think it’s a bit harder to find real nice and cool stuff for boys than it is for girls. An since I have a little boy running around the house, you can tell I get very excited when I find something I really like. Just a while ago, I came across this documentary on tv about this illustrator, named Tom Schamp. I really love his style and how he works, so I decided to buy one of his books. It’s called ‘heen en weer naar de stad’ (up an down into town’) and actually they are two books combined into one. The book is big but not too big and has this nice hard pages which are difficult to tear apart. Which is kind of smart for little boys ;) At the end you can flip te book around and read it the other way around. I really love the bright illustrations and all the weirdly drawn cars. It’s full of details and one can look at the pages for hours. My son is calling out: ‘car! Car!’ and ‘wow!’ all the time when he looks at the book. Even though there isn’t a lot of written words, I think this one could also be great for kids a little bit older, because you can see and tell so much.
Die moet ik ook hebben, prachtig!
